SHOTOKAN KARATEDO INTERNATIONAL-PHILIPPINES

SKIF-Philippines won 6 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals at the recently concluded 2008 PKF National Championships. Sempai Diane Kristin Moral led the team winning the gold for the +60Kg Women's Kumite and Silver for the open weight kumite. Ace Eso won the Gold for the -55 Men's Kumite. They both made it to the PKF national pool.

Likewise, Jamel Yagomyon won the gold for the 15-16 years old advance kata. Raquel Luzares took the silver for the 14-15 years old kumite and bronze for the advance kata; Kevin Medigoria won the silver for the 16-17 years old advance kata. They are all nominated to the junior pool.

Other winners are Randolf Zurita, bronze -55kg Male Kumite; John Cenard Cullera, silver 12-13 years old boys kumite and silver advance kata; Gedeon Gilbert Benedicto, gold 8-9 years old Novice kata; Therrence Alvarez, bronze 8-9 years old novice kata; Giljon Luis Benedicto, gold 10-11 years old novice kata; Joshua De Ocampo, gold 12-13 years old novice kata; Sandino Miguel Garcia, bronze 10-11 years old kumite; and Elsha Bertillo, bronze 12-13 years old girls kumite.

The SKIF karatekas underwent rigorous training under coach Bong Soriano, sensei and sempai mae soriano.
